About Me

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at Tarleton State University.  I lead the lab for Bridging Research in AI and Neuroscience (BRAIN Lab), which focuses on brain-computer interface and human cognition research using AI and computational neuroscience. Prior to this, I worked in industry for a couple of years, at Sonera as a computational neuroscientist and at Meta as a Research Scientist intern, working extensively on human-computer interaction. I did my postdoc at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), working on motor learning and memory consolidation. I received my Ph.D. in 2021 from the University of Texas at Austin in Electrical and Computer Engineering with my thesis on speech-BCI with MEG and AI.

My research curiosity lies with neurotechnology, neural disorders, and AI. The human brain is the biggest puzzle mankind has ever encountered. My dream is to decode this puzzle to contribute to healthcare.

Those who can, do. Those who can do more, teach.

My philosophy of teaching is rooted in the belief that education is not only about transmitting knowledge but also about cultivating curiosity, critical thinking, and independence in learners. Ultimately, my teaching goal is to inspire students to see learning as a lifelong process.
