I also co-teach NURS 3512: Nursing Pathophysiology &amp; Pharmacology as well as NURS 3325: Health Assessment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I graduated from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2010 with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing and began my career as a pediatric emergency nurse at Children\u2019s Medical Center in Dallas. I later transitioned into women\u2019s health at a small rural hospital in Clinton, Oklahoma, where I practiced labor &amp; delivery, antepartum, and postpartum care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I went on to earn my Master of Science in Nurse-Midwifery from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2018 and practiced as an APRN in women\u2019s health here in Stephenville for four years. I also served as a sub-investigator for Javara Research, participating in nationwide clinical trials evaluating emerging drugs and vaccines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I completed my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Arkansas State University in 2025 and remain passionate about nursing education, competency-based curriculum design, and improving student learning experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Outside of nursing my husband, Wes, and I have been married since 2010 and we have four children\u2014Eli, Brooklyn, Wyatt, and Ellington. We enjoy camping, traveling, and keeping up with all of our kids&#8217; sports and after-school activities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am also an avid reader and long-distance runner, having completed a 50K trail run, three full marathons, more than 30 half marathons, and countless 5Ks and 10Ks. My goal is to run at least a half-marathon in all 50 states! I strive to incorporate humor in my teaching because I believe that everyone learns more effectively when they are having fun and enjoying the content. Putting the learner at ease allows them to engage more fully with the material and stretch their knowledge of the subject. Finally, I believe that personal enthusiasm for the content matter as well as the success of the learners creates a successful learning experience.
