Dr. Doug Simon became the Dean of the Leadership and Military College and the Commandant of Cadets in July of 2022. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Sociology from South Dakota State University and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of South Dakota. Dr. Simon has 25 years of higher education experience as a professor, department chair, and dean. Coupled with Dr. Simon\u2019s higher education experience, he enlisted in 1989 with a field artillery unit and then direct commissioned in 2000 as a judge advocate with the Minnesota Army National Guard. As a judge advocate, Dr. Simon has served in a variety of legal assignments. He currently holds the rank of colonel with the United States Army Reserve and is assigned to U.S. Strategic Command as an Assistant Staff Judge Advocate.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
