Mark Scott is an accomplished guitarist, composer, and educator based in Austin, Texas. He holds a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas and a Master\u2019s degree in Jazz Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, where he also served as a Teaching Assistant for the jazz program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mark\u2019s professional performance experience spans a range of notable Texas venues, including Parker Jazz Club, Stubb\u2019s Amphitheater, The Continental Club, Monk\u2019s Jazz and the Elephant Room, among others. He has also contributed his talents to numerous recording sessions at esteemed studios such as The Panhandle House, Reeltime Audio, 5th Street Studios, and Cedar Creek Recordings. His performance credits include performances with distinguished jazz artists like Branford Marsalis, Helen Sung, Rodney Whitaker, Altin Sencalar, Bruce Saunders, and John Fedchock. Mark\u2019s recording credits include upcoming releases such as Soft Light<\/em> with the Mark Scott Trio and contributions to projects with the Sam Dimov Quintet, Pierson Keating, Jessica Healey, & others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In his educational role, Mark has extensive experience as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Texas, where he taught Beginning Jazz Improvisation and led jazz small groups.
