About<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Semukhina is a Professor at the School of Criminology, Criminal Justice, and Public Administration and the Director of the Institute for Predictive and Analytical Policing Science<\/a> at Tarleton State University. She earned her MS and PhD degrees from the University of Central Florida and her JD and LLM degrees from Tomsk State University in Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Semukhina has collaborated extensively with law enforcement agencies in Florida, Wisconsin, and Texas. Her evidence-based research spans public perceptions of police, intelligence and law enforcement data-sharing, spatial analysis for crime-reduction strategies, and targeted community-policing efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Semukhina has secured $974,000 in external grant funding from the National Institute of Justice and the U.S. State Department. She is the author of eighteen peer-reviewed journal articles, three book chapters, and two books. Her work is published in Crime and Delinquency, American Journal of Criminal Justice, and British Journal of Criminology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Semukhina\u2019s teaching interests include Predictive Policing, Research Methods, Spatial Statistics, Criminal Law and Procedure, and Law Enforcement Issues. As Director of the Institute for Predictive and Analytical Policing Science, she coordinates the Graduate Certificate in Crime Analysis <\/a>and Undergraduate Certificates in Crime Analysis<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Semukhina has a strong service record at Tarleton State University. She served as the inaugural Criminal Justice Doctoral Program Coordinator for three years, ensuring the program\u2019s academic rigor. She is currently a member of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) committee, a Faculty Senator, and the Senate Parliamentarian, contributing to faculty governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
