Kayla Jacobs, part of the first cohort in 2014, is currently an intern at BHP Billiton thanks to her research in water use in hydraulic fracturing activities in the Permian Basin.
Aldo Medina (May 2016 grad) and Jordan Perry (Dec 2014 grad) were part of the preliminary assessment phase of the applicability of CMIP5 models to Texas. Their research has resulted in numerous products, including a publication in the Journal of Hydroloy. Jordan Perry is currently an Engineering Assistant II at TXDOT at their Brownwood office while Aldo Medina is a Graduate Water Resources Engineer at Dunaway Associates, LP
Madisyn Nelson and Caleb Frandsen (Dec 2016 grads) have been evaluating various temperature-based potential evapotransporation (PET) estimation methods for use in Texas. They recently presented their work at the EWRI Congress in West Palm Beach, FL. Caleb Frandsen is currently an intern at Alan Plummer Assocates in Fort Worth while Madisyn Nelson has been selected to participate in the NSF REU at the JISAO at UW Seattle.
