Dr. Mary B. Winton is an Associate Professor for the School of Nursing. She is an alum of Tarleton State University with an associate degree in nursing (ADN) in 1994. She continued with her education, obtaining her MSN at the University of Texas at Arlington and her PhD in nursing at The University of Texas at Tyler. She has been with Tarleton since 2004. She enjoys teaching pathophysiology and pharmacology. She has taught numerous nursing courses, such as Health Assessment, Nursing Care of Older Adults, Adult Health Nursing, Transition to Professional Nursing, Synthesis, and Nursing Informatics, among others. She has taught in all programs/tracks (Traditional BSN, LVN to BSN, RN to BSN, and MSN). Her research interests include health of Korean immigrants, student learning and success, workplace environment. She has authored nursing textbooks in pharmacology and gerontology which are used internationally.
